Clever name? I don’t know. I was thinking of the various events in Boston history with some friends, including the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. Somehow, i turned the Boston Tea Party into the Boston Streak Party, an interesting title representing the Celtics previous 19 game winning streak and 12 game winning streak. Both streaks ended with the Lakers showing who’s boss and the title had a Poopers added to the end because the Lakers broke their hearts.

Anyway, the title does somewhat explain it all. The Lakers went into Boston to play the second game of their back-to-back, fifth game on the east coast road trip, and came out with a 110-109 win in overtime over the team that had the best record (now belonging to the Lakers).

Another way to cleverly look at this game was, Kobe disciplining the Celtics, especially young guard Rajon Rondo. Kind of cute, Ray Allen standing their holding Rondo like he’s his mother. Protect your young cub Ray, we’re coming after him.

The win was amazing and the feeling I had the rest of the night was one of glory and pride. My team defeated the defending champs twice in one season. Awesome. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to watch any part of the game besides the final 3 minutes of the 4th quarter and the last 30 seconds of overtime. With that said, I figured I’d link out to a few guys that did get to watch the game and have some more thoughts on it than myself.

• Kurt of Forum Blue & Gold is most definitely one of the best sources for game breakdowns. He provided a few quick thoughts and then publish a second round of Lakers-Celtics analysis.
• Red’s Army isn’t making any excuses for this Celtics loss.

And of course, I can’t but show some love finally for Lamar Odom who managed to thrive under the pressure and make the go ahead free throw. He went 2-2 from the line with 16 seconds remaining in overtime. he also stood up for himself quite nicely. Finally someone gave KG a little taste of his own medicine, he didn’t like the taste too much.
