Shaq Wants Back In With Lakers
-
Does Shaq realize that Lakers are the team he needs to be a part of? Does Shaq feel that he could’ve won more than one title if he was with the Lakers instead of with Miami?
All the drama with Kobe and Shaq is pretty much over with and the Big Diesel has made various comments that make us all question where his head has been the last few years.
Shaquille O’Neal has long been known as one of the most extreme drama queens in the NBA and just continues to prove the point. The back and forth drama has been ridiculous, actually, I take it back, it hasn’t been back and forth, it’s been Shaq talking and Kobe staying away from it.
Either way, these days we only listen to the last thing somebody said and therefore, everything Shaq has done in the past makes no difference and it’s all about the latest news.
There is a funny version of the story on Deuce of Davenport that is an absolute must read. They take the time to link over to a site that provides all the infamous Shaq quotes over the years!
The following is the story from the Los Angeles Daily News:
Shaquille O’Neal said he hasn’t ruled out a return to the Lakers as a free agent in 2010.
He also claimed he never had a problem with Kobe Bryant while they played together with the Lakers. He said he believes they could have won more titles together if he hadn’t been traded to the Miami Heat in 2004.
“I swear to God we never had a problem,” O’Neal, now with the Phoenix Suns, said during an interview posted Friday on the Web site of the Sacramento Bee. “On the court, we never had a problem.”
Instead, O’Neal blamed their creative tension on Lakers coach Phil Jackson.
“I think it was all designed by Phil,” he said. “Because, if you think about it, Phil never called us into the office and said, `Both of you, shut the (heck) up.’ Never did that in four years. He knew that when I read something, I was going to get upset. And he knew Kobe was going to always come out and play hard.
“So I think it was all done by design.”
Asked if he believed Jackson did it to motivate the players, O’Neal said, “Yeah, I think that’s exactly what it was. … He never called us in a meeting and said, `Shut up.’ And basically, it was never a face-to-face … thing. It was always, he’d say something to you, I’d say something to another guy, I’d say something to you. That’s all it was.”
Still, O’Neal sounded wistful in reflecting on his Lakers days.
“Now that I look back on it, that (stuff) was kind of fun,” he said. “It really was. It was kind of fun. `What did he say, what did he say?’ I tell people if we would have had a reality show, we’d have had the No. 1 reality show in the world.”It was fun. It was actually fun. (Assistant coach Brian) Shaw would be, `Oh, man, why did you say that?’ And then Karl (Malone) would be like, `Yo, that was (messed) up what you said,’ then we’d try to outdo each other in the game.
“But while we were trying to outdo each other, the two best players in the game, we were outdoing everyone by far. (Heck), if he was open in the lane, I wasn’t going to say, `(The heck with) you, Kobe.’ I would still drop it off. But it was actually fun.
“And not only was it fun, we’ll always be remembered as the best Lakers one-two punch. I’m going on record as saying we’re the best Lakers guard-center punch. You heard if from me. Ever.”
Bryant and the Lakers play O’Neal and the Suns next Thursday in Phoenix.

lamar odom should be the pointguard for the lakers right now. put fisher on the bench.until he realizes that he needs to past the ball more.because its a shame that kobe leads the team in assists and gasol is second on the team.thats sad solet odom play point guard because he can distribute the ball better to all the players like kobe/bynum/gasol.he can also rebound and score on smaller pointguards.and post them up down low.phil should know this is better with big guards.wake up phil jackson.we need achampionship this year.please send this e-mail to phil jackson and kobe please do this for all devoted laker fans like me.

better yet let kobe play pointguard and sasha play shooting guard.ron harper was the point guard when the lakers won 3championships.kobe defense on the opposing teams point guard will disrupt their offense statergy.plus he can score and put the ball in the right position for gausol/bynum and the rest of the team.send e-mail to kobe and phil jackson.

Well Morrison and Shannon Brown are now Lakers. It is a wish-wash to me. Morrison can test the free agent market at end of the year. We saved 6 million plus on his salary for next 2 years.
well the next deal is Lamar Odom to Sacramento for Brad Miller. That is going around
What about Shaq back to Lakers for Walton and 1st round pick ( since it will be so low anyways

I personally think they need to keep Walton an TRADE Lamar Odom for shaq, but i do agree that Fisher needs to pass more
