Kobe Bryant won the NBA MVP award a short while ago. The presentation took place during the 2nd game of the second round at Staples Center as the Lakers prepared to face the Utah Jazz.

During the press conference the day before, Kobe Bryant was asked many questions regarding his award. He consistently responded with the fact that his teammates were extremely important in him winning the award and he could not have done it without them.

Luke Walton stood up and asked the next question, “Will your teammates be getting any special gifts for helping you win this award?”

    The answer was “YES.”

    The gifts have arrived.

Last night during a team dinner in which the players and coaching staff watched the San Antonio Spurs take over the New Orleans Hornets on their home court, Kobe Bryant unexpectedly revealed the awards. The gift, well it was quite costly and much more than anyone had expected.

Kobe Bryant provided each teammate with a personally engraved Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Chronograph watch from Switzerland. They retail for $9,000 apiece.

    $9,000 x 14 = 126,000

I’d say Kobe Bryant is thankful for his teammates. Well done, Nice to see the classy move by the league MVP.

Depending on the model, the Master Compressor could be as much as $15,000- $18,000. Pretty generous if you ask me.

I’ll bet his teammates will demonstrate their gratitude to him by passing the ball to him plenty!
