Marc Stein of ESPN is reporting that James Posey has agreed to terms with the New Orleans Hornets. The proposed deal is supposedly a four year contract worth $25 million.

The Hornets were able to acquire the services of Posey simply based on the fact that no other team was willing to offer the forward a four year contract.

At age 31, Posey will play through his mid 30’s with this contract and can potentially kill a team’s salary cap in the future when they are ready to rebuild. Will the Hornets be a force to reckon with for years to come, of course, let’s just hope they don’t beat the Lakers.

It seems as though the remaining target on the Lakers radar now is creating a viable trade for Ron Artest and an additional player from the Sacramento Kings.
