Sasha’s Ankle: OMG
-
I wasn’t planning on writing about this because it’s been pretty much covered over and over.
Sasha Vujacic just started to get some good playing time in the Lakers rotation. Sure, Kobe Bryant was sidelined and taking some time off to prepare for the playoffs, but this was the best opportunity for the bench to also prepare for the “real” season.
After a tough season, Sasha was playing some strong defense, making open jumpers, and even creating nice opportunities for his teammates.
Some people however just can’t catch a break. Life is a nonstop uphill climb and just when you get to the top and begin to feel good again, you realize there is another mountain that you have to climb. There is simply no escaping the reality of life. Not everything will go your way and sometimes you just don’t have a choice but to buckle in and go for the ride.
Well, Sasha is going on the ride, I just wished he was buckled in better for this one.
In the last game of the regular season, with his swagger back in his step, Sasha took a wrong step and severely sprained his ankle. The MRIs have shown that there are no torn ligaments, however the sprain is going to keep him off the court for quite possibly the entire first round series against the Thunder, and possibly even longer (lets hope not).
Now I know there are plenty of haters that point fingers and only look at athletes as “what have you done for me lately” type of guys, especially Sasha Vujacic, BUT, take a look at Sasha’s black and blue ankle, do I really need to stand up for the guy or will you finally let him recover in peace??
Yeah, I thought so!!
That just looks horrible. Let’s hope he comes back sooner rather than later and continues with the same rhythm he had prior to the injury.
