This was Derek Fisher’s motto for the shot to end regulation and in overtime. All playoff long, Fish was struggling from all over the floor and even on the defensive end with the Rockets. Almost all the lakers fans including me wanted fisher to be benched and either farmar or brown to start in his place. Well maybe these thoughts are keeping us from becoming a hall of famer coach(or maybe i need to grow a beard and date jeanie buss). Phil stuck with the “old man” and he came through as he always has in his career. With Kobe hounded with 2 magic jerseys, fisher took the role of mr clutch and just took the ball up and drained the 3. When i was watching the game live, the moment fish pulled up I said to my self “Oh Crap”.  As soon as overtime hit the 1 minute mark and kobe started driving i was screaming for him to get the ball to fish. You should have seen the look on fish’s face as he was running back after hitting that shot. There was a big smile on his face that said it all.

Now on to some important points in the game:

    • The lakers shots just stopped falling in the second quarter and that is where started to think that were gonna lose this game
    • Trevor Ariza was the 3rd quarter MVP. He made all the right plays and hit two big threes to stop the Magic’s momentum
    • Even if there is 1 minute left in the game and we’re down, the offense should go through Pau Gasol because he is making all the right plays. He shot a solid 50% for 16 pts and 10 rebounds.
    • I never understood when people said that certain teams have more playoff experience so they will win more.  Well todays game demonstrated that experience really matters. While the Magic were a little scared and Rashard Lewis totally disappeared until hitting a three late. The Lakers were poised and fish showed us why experience matters.
    • Jeff Van Gundy changes sides pretty fast. In game 1 and 2 all you could hear from van gundy was how the magic can win and what they should do instead of commenting on the game.  This game it was mostly about what the lakers are doing right. I dont think Jeff is gonna be the most favorite family member at the next family dinner.

Well thats about it for now. Until the next game. On one side im hoping the lakers win but i would also rather have them win it at home. Lets see what happens but things look good and i think they are gonna wrap it up in 5.
