Kobe Wins Co-MVP at All Star Game
-
It was a great night. The NBA All Star game was a huge success for all parties involved. The NBA, the players, the organizations, the city of Phoenix, the Lakers organization and the fans are all better off from this game.
Lakers stars Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol took the floor in Phoenix to help lead the Western Conference to another victory. Kobe led all scorers with 27 points and also had 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.
Due to his superb performance, Kobe earned distinct honors. Those honors didn’t come only to him though.
In the much anticipated reunion of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal, as well as Phil Jackson on the bench coaching them, the NBA handed the MVP award to both players. They were co-MVPs and neither seemed to have a problem with it. Afterall, Shaq did have 17 points in 11 minutes of play.
The two connected on a few plays and it was a real pleasure to watch them play together.
Here are two quick videos from Kobe and Pau during the practice sessions.
These are all great interviews and videos. After watching all this, I really wouldn’t mind seeing Shaq in a Lakers uniform again… of course thats coming off the bench of Bynum two years from now for about $5 million (if that)!!!
