I think that putting Luke Walton into the starting lineup was done for a few reasons. The first reason is because of trade value. The Lakers obviously need to get rid of either Luke or Radman, we simply don't need both of them, and the playing time has proven that. Vlad's trade value has already gone up as he has been playing pretty well this season. Luke had no trade value virtually because he never showcased his skills this season, so this was his chance. Also, with the Lakers in it for the long haul, with anything less than a title being a underachievement, the Lakers coaching staff feels its appropriate to mess around with the minutes and the starting line up, potentially give up a few games now, so that the best can be captured in the playoffs. The final idea is that Luke is actually a great passer and with Fisher being more of a shoot first point guard and Lamar not in the starting lineup, perhaps Luke's passing abilities were the missing piece in the starting lineup. I kind of liked the switch at first but to completely bench Vlad and not give him a decent amount of minutes isn't right by me. He's too good of a shooter to not be in the game. Perhaps Vlad and Luke should be splitting half the minute, and Trevor should take the other half.

Great review.

I'm interested to know what you think about the move to put Luke in the starting lineup? I honestly don't know why Phil Jackson made that change. Radman was having a massive impact (at times) early in the season.

Good post! Keep it up...

I think that the Lakers are the best team in the NBA now especially that the Celtics are struggling against the top offensive team in the league.
