It has been reported that Jordan Farmar has met with doctors in LA and has been recommended to have surgery performed on his knee.

With a torn meniscus in his knee, Jordan was forced to sit out the last two games and will also sit out tonight’s game against the New Orleans Hornets.

Phil Jackon had his comments regarding the injury. He has made it known that he personaly believes Jordan should undergo the surgery as well. He stated that the operation will put Farmar out for approximately 6-8 weeks (my guess is longer) and will require the Lakers to find another point guard in the mean time.

No word has been said whether that guard will be acquired via trade or free agency, but either way, this is good news. Jackson made it clear the Coby Karl and Joe Crawford would not be the point guard picked up. I feel that the team is looking for a point guard with veteran experience or at least a more developed one guard.

It will be interesting to see what the decision is for Jordan and what the decision is for the front office. O boy the holidays are really becoming even more exciting!
