December Updates
-
Hello to everyone…
I wanted to update you on the happennings of LABallTalk.com over the last few weeks.
First off, I’d like to wish everyone a great holiday season in the upcoming weeks and all the best as you head into the new year. I am sure that 2009 will be filled with many great memories, including a Lakers Championship Parade through the streets of Downtown LA!
Secondly, life has been absolutely crazy recently. I have done my best in trying to provide as much coverage of the games as possible throughout this season but have been restricted by several things.
School has been somewhat of an issue recently as night classes have taken over and many games have been missed. By the time I watch the recorded game its a day late and noone cares anymore. Also, with all these wins, it’s been somewhat boring. What can I possibly write about a 20 points blow out. The close games definitely have some thoughts to them, but time has been an issue and I apologize to everyone for that.
Finals will be over in just under a week and I look forward to getting back on track to providing all of you with the best Lakers coverage possible.
This past weekend, I was in Las Vegas for a very special event. A very close friend of mine is in a wheel chair and requested that I help him with something. This something, became a very special memory for me. The Las Vegas marathon took place this past weekend. My friend, in his wheel chair, signed up for the half marathon. He registered as a part of a philanthropy we have worked with in the past called Chai Lifeline. You can take a look at more information regarding the marathon program on Team Lifeline website.
As my friend made the decision to roll 13.1 miles back and forth down the Las Vegas strip, he made it clear that he would need someones help in pushing him toward the end. I volunteered to help him with the race, and unexpectedly, stuck with him from beginning to end and completed the entire half marathon in three hours. It was an absolutely incredible experience and will stick with me forever. Helping others out with something that you truly know is so highly valued by them can really make you so much more proud of yourself. I must admit, my legs hurt and it’s difficult to walk, but it was well worth this pain.
Back to life in LA now, I will be getting back on track with providing top notch Lakers content in the very near future, so please bare with me as I take another week of limited posting in order to get life back on track and put an end to this thing called Finals.
