I have been waiting to hear about the result of this altercation for a while now. I knew there was no chance that there would be no response. As i expected, the league has announced various suspensions and fines.

The person that started the altercation was none other than Phoenix Suns Forward Matt Barnes. Barnes threw out a dirty screen and shove on Rafer Alston. Alston, formerly known as Skip To My Lou, of course it’s the one guy that use to play streetball that is involved, took exception to the dirty play.

Rafer Alston got back up after he was shoved and got in the face of Barnes. The action escalated when McGrady tried to separate the two and Steve Nash felt like he again had to get involved. Am I the only one that realized Nash gets into just about every single fight possible? It’s insane… the guys got little man syndrome.

Anyways, when everything was said and done, Nash was on the floor after McGrady shoved him down, and McGrady and Yao were on the floor after Shaq took them out.

The league took two days to review the incident and unleashed the beast, well not the beast, I’d actually say the punishments were very minor.

Matt Barnes has been issues a two game suspension. Steve Nash and Rafer Alston each were given a one game suspension. McGrady was fined $25,000 and Shaq was fined $35,000.

In case you didn’t see the fight, take a look at it here:
