Andrew Bynum and his agent have come to terms on a contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers. The final day to sign a deal is this upcoming Friday and with Bynum’s performance in the first two games of the season, the investment is clearly worth it.

Bynum celebrated his 21st birthday on Monday night and now has a lot more money to go back to the club with and “make it rain.” The contract extension that has been agreed to is reportedly worth a total of $58 million. The first three years are at $14 million a piece and the team has an option for the third year at $16 million.

With the financial issues taken care of, I expect Bynum to go out and play basketball to his full potential. His precense in the key has already proven to be effective as the Lakers are 2-0 with an average winning spread of 29 points. As the season continues, Bynum and Gasol will continue to find their mojo together and hopefully will continue to dominate the league.
