The Los Angeles Lakers have made started making their cuts in order to get the team down to 15 players. Brandon Heath was waived and his preseason cut slightly short.

Heath, a 6-3 guard out of San Diego State spent last season playing in France for Entente Orleans 45 where he averaged 12.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25 games. In five preseason games with the Lakers, during which he played a good amount of time for a guy that had very little exposure and went undrafted, 8.6 minutes per game, he averaged less than a point in a half.

It is of no surprise that Heath was cut as the Lakers guard spots are well taken care of by Derek Fisher and Jordan Farmar. With the idea of Lamar Odom playing some minutes at the point, there is surely no room for anyone else. Also, keep in mind that Sun Yue needs a spot on this team!

The current roster has 17 players and requires two more to get cut, with possibly three depending on whether the franchise has plans on making trades during the season.
