Game 4 was an interesting one, for Boston fans. It was a game that can only be compared to a roller coaster. A roller coast that at some point leaves its tracks and flies into the parking lot crashing into 743 cars and breaking the heart of every viewer.
In this game, there were no serious injuries to the Lakers, ut the heart of every Lakers fan was shattered.
It has taken me two days to write a single word related to this game and with that I apologize to all you loyal readers out there. I’ve made sure to stop by the various Celtics blogs though and congratulate the fans on a big win. I’ve been extremely bitter the last two days and have realized its unnecessary, let Boston enjoy their big win, after all, our team hasn’t played as a unit for nearly as long as they have and the lack of experience shows at times. Next year will be that much better for these young guys to develop.
I have a few thoughts coming into game five.
- The Lakers aren’t done yet. When Phil Jackson and Kobe Bryant are on the same bench, don’t ever count them out.
- If there was ever a team in history that was capable of coming back in the NBA Finals when down 3-1, it’s this team.
- The Lakers team is young and will perform one of two ways: 1) choke with their backs against the wall, or 2) step up big time with all the intensity and energy they’ve got (which is a lot more than Boston has) and essentially make a big run at the Celtics. I’d say with Kobe Bryant on the floor option #2 is more likely.
- The interviews from the Lakers over the last two days have been somewhat strange. I wonder if the players are really that comfortable and ready to play, or if they just understand they have no choice and must play poised and under control in order to have any chance at this. They seem more peaceful than I do, I’ve been going nuts for two days already.
- As young of a team as this current Lakers roster is, next year is sure to be an amazing season. They made the NBA Finals in a year that included four horrible injuries. Andrew Bynum’s knee, Trevor Ariza’s foot, Kobe Bryant’s finger, and Derek Fisher’s foot. Ariza and Bynum are both realistic starters for this team, which means two out of the top five players on this team were injured for the majority of the season and aren’t playing effectively now, in Ariza’s case. I can’t wait to see what they can do next year, I can see them challenging the Bulls 72 win season.
Today, I will be hosting another live blog. I hope that many of you will join me and I look forward to extending this series to a full seven games.
