The NBA has come out with another new commercial. I have to finally hand it to the league, they are finally providing great advertisement that is beneficial to promoting the association. The campaign of “Where ________ Happens” was simply brilliant in my opinion and I loved watching the commercials. They never got old and I truly enjoyed every single one of them.
The regular season is coming to an end and the playoffs are in sight. Only 8 of the 9 elite teams in the Western Conference will be around to participate in the playoffs, and they are sure to be absolutely incredible. The first round potential match-ups of the Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz, or Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks, or San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets, or even the New Orleans Hornets and Denver Nuggets will be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
I truly can’t wait for the adventure to begin. This will be the best 40 games in 40 nights in the history of the playoffs being shown on TNT. For the first time, eight 50+ win teams will be competing for three rounds just to face off against the best of the East.
The NBA’s new advertisement for the playoffs is probably one that none of us could have imagined. Kobe and Shaq are now back in the same division, and could even potentially be facing up in the first round of the playoffs, possibly the third, or maybe in the conference finals, who knows. Either way you look at it, they are rivals and not friends. The new commercial is a split screen speech by both Kobe and Shaq at the same time. Kobe is on the left and Shaq is on the right and they state that “they are ready.” The white print comes over their faces and says, “There Can Only Be One.”
I wonder if they knew this commercial would be done with the two of them. I wonder who came up with this. I wonder who the brilliant power behind putting these two rivals together was. Take a look for yourself, it starts around the 10 second mark.
