Another Highlight by #24
-
As the Lakers took on the Mavericks last night, there were plenty of plays throughout the game that fans of either team could get extremely excited about. There were a few high energy Lakers baskets and blocks, but there were also plenty of Dallas highlights in the second half. During last night’s game, the Lakers ran what turned out to be the ultimate fast break. Derek Fisher gets stuck between the baseline, the basket, and a defender, but luckily enough, the trailing Kobe Bryant is there to finish the play. It wasn’t quite textbook but nonetheless, it worked out!! If only the second half had more baskets such as this for the Lakers.
Here is how I called it yesterday in my Lakers vs Dallas Breakdown:
5:40 3rd quarter: Another great block by DJ Mbenga leads to an easy/lucky 2 point layup for the Lakers. Dirk was looking for a foul call but while he continue to hassle the refs, Derek Fisher took the break away into the offensive zone, passed it off to the trailing Kobe, and Kobe performed a beautiful looking spin move (on which he got fouled, clearly) and threw up a prayer that managed to find its way home. The play seemed to be more like a theory of “ball doesn’t lie” because the refs should’ve called a foul on the play. Mavs timeout, Lakers up 76-51.
Enjoy!
